Hi inibuilds team! Firstly, i just want to say on behalf of the FS a350 community, thank you team for working hard to keep improving the 350, just as promised, and for taking the majority of suggestions/feedback from the community seriously :) Since you guys recently mentioned the a350v2 update will bring some changes to wing geometry for the 359/35K variants, i was hoping that at the same time, some of the additional inaccuracies with the wing model could be amended at the same time as well. Attatched are some of the exterior model inaccuracies that ive noticed, and hope they can be fixed for a more faithful representation of the a350's lovely wing. Furthermore, ive attached a link to a 3d model of the a350 which i believe is a 3d scan of the real aircraft as the wing geometry looks absolutely spot on to the real aircrafts wing. I sincerely hope these feedback and suggestions can be passed on to the team to be considered! Thank you 🙏🙂 Firstly, the curvature of the wing, especially at the leading edge. In the real aircraft, the wings actually "level off" or decrease in dihedral angle slightly after the engine pylon attatchment area. From there, the curve of the droop towards the winglet is actually quite minimal, almost straight. However in the sim, the wings curve upwards a little after the pylon before flattening out again close to the winglet. Secondly, the camber of the wing in the sim is higher than that of the real aircraft. The backwards tilt of the winglet shows this quite clearly, almost like the whole wing is tilted backwards in the sim model. Also note how in the IRL pic, much more of the wing's upper surface (especially close to the winglet) is visible due to the more neutral camber. Thirdly, the winglet width is too large in the sim model, which i think the team is aware of 🙂 Fourthly, the trailing edge of the wing isnt "lifted" as much in the sim model (in laymans terms LE too high, TE too low), which makes it lack the signature gull-wing look. Lastly, the The sim model wing's leading edge is too thick compared to the real aircraft (see the black painted line, as well as the 2 curves at the pylon attachment. The real aircraft definitely has a flatter wing profile/thickness at the LE. And a bonus fix, it would be great if the painted pylon attachment area can be made white like the real aircraft. 😁 Heres some reference photos to illustrate: In the second (sim) pic, the pink line shows the leading edge curve, the blue line shows the upward curve after the pylon, and the red arrows and dotted lines represent the changes that could be made to the wing's model for it to match the real aircraft more closely. Note how the curve on the real aircraft from pylon onwards to winglet is almost straight unlike the much more noticeable curve close to the winglet on the sim photo. Additional clarification^ This leading edge curve inaccuracy amplifies in the air sadly, in almost every IRL pic that subtle downward curve after the pylon is noticeable. The lack of that in the sim makes the wing look straight with almost no "flex" at all. The thickess of the LE, the camber and flatter TE makes wing shape look quite different to that of the real aircraft when airborne, and can break immersion especially for frequent a350 fliers. Also, note the pretty big upwards curve of the trailing edge closer to the fuselage, as well as the thickness of the leading edge and the flatter camber. Ive used the drone cam to match this exact angle in the sim and its quite a clear difference, which i really hoped can be addressed or at least made more accurate 🙏 The 3d model i mentioned earlier, which maybe can help the team act as a reference? I sincerely hope this feedback and information is useful to the team and i hope at least some of these changes can be considered and implemented for the v2 update, as i spent about 2h trying to illustrate the inaccuracies as best as i can. Im quite sure im not the only one in the community who has noticed these inaccuracies and hopes for them to be corrected too🙃 I've come across other forum posts here about the shape of the flap panels themselves/size of flap track fairings etc and i trust that they have been/will be taken into consideration as well, as modelling accuracy plays a big part in immersion 🙂🙏 Thank you inibuilds also for taking the community feedback about the a340's initial wing model issues seriously and correcting them.
