  1. I would just like to thank you for introducing the Tristar 500 last month. I am now 94, and really thought that my chances of flying one again were not very high. I had been very happy flying the Comet 4 and the VC10, in BOAC, but decided that it was time for a change. I had become a Training Captain ( Instructor) on the VC10 and decided that I would prefer the chance of joining the Tristar Fleet, which was due to be formed in a few months time, in 1976. Captain David Martin was my Flight Training Manager on the VC10, and was chosen to start the Tristar training programme, and he asked me to join him, which I gladly did. I won’t rabbit on too much, but I spent 10 wonderful years on “Long Haul” in what then became BA. I spent all of that time as a Training Captain, but did a great deal of line flying. I retired from BA in 1986, and was lucky enough to be offered a post with AIR LANKA, now Sri Lankan Airlines, flying the Tristar. I finally retired about 5 years later, just before I was 60. That was almost 35 years ago, and since then I have spent quite a lot of time progressing up the Flight Simulator channels. I purchased MSFS 2024 when it was launched, and happily flew the Hunter, which I flew when in the RAF in the 50s. I have also thoroughly enjoyed flying the PMDG 737- 800, although I never flew it in my flying career. I am really looking forward to “ coming to terms” with this new challenge, and hope that the AI Flight Engineer will look after us as well as ours in BA did all those years ago. Could I just mention that I am having a difficult time trying to locate the latest updates for the Tristar, and if anyone knows where they are, it would be a great help, many thanks Roy Copeman
