iniBuilds A350 FPLN Request bugs on Xbox Series X

Featured Replies

I’m using Xbox Series X + MSFS 2024 + iniBuilds A350.

The problem occurs when starting the aircraft from a Cold & Dark state. I follow the normal startup procedure and import my SimBrief flight plan through the EFB. Flt Ops Sts and Load Sheet information both load normally.

However, when I perform FPLN Request on the FMS, it remains stuck on “Pending Request” for about 20 seconds and then automatically returns to the previous screen. The flight plan is never loaded.

I have repeatedly tried various troubleshooting methods, including re-importing the SimBrief flight plan, restarting the aircraft, reloading the flight, sending the FPLN Request again, switching through CAPT OIS/Center OIS and then importing again, as well as other related settings and procedures. I believe I have already tried pretty much all of the obvious troubleshooting steps.

I have also seen other Xbox Series X players on YouTube using this function successfully, so I’m wondering whether this could be related to corrupted A350 data, cached data, saved aircraft data, or an Xbox-specific bug.

If anyone knows how to completely reset the A350 data or fix the FPLN Request getting stuck on Pending, I would really appreciate your help.

Hi Carl,

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with the A350 on Xbox. My first suggestion would be to uninstall and reinstall the aircraft through the in-game marketplace, as this can sometimes resolve issues caused by corrupted or incomplete files.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

I re-downloaded and reinstalled the A350 through the in-game Marketplace, then completely restarted MSFS 2024 and tested again.

Unfortunately, the issue remains exactly the same.

I’m using Xbox Series X. In Cold & Dark, SimBrief import works normally, and Flt Ops Sts and Load Sheet load correctly. However, FMS FPLN Request stays on “Pending Request” for about 10–20 seconds and then returns without loading the flight plan.

I have also tested both SIMDEFAULT and NAVIGRAPH NAVDATA sources, with the same result.

Could you please investigate whether this is a known Xbox-specific issue?

Hi Carl,

Thanks for your help with the troubleshooting. I’ll forward this over to a team member with an Xbox and have them test it. I’ll report back once they’ve had a chance to investigate.

Thank you again for your time and help!

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to investigate this and for arranging a test on Xbox. I really appreciate it.

I hope the team can reproduce the issue and determine whether it is specific to the Xbox version. I’ll wait for your update.

I found another bug that seems to point to the same underlying issue: EFB-to-FMS communication is not working.

  1. EFB T.O PERF computes normally, but the results cannot be sent to the FMS.

  2. SimBrief can be imported into the EFB, but the FMS cannot receive the flight plan.

So it appears that the FMS is not receiving any data from the EFB on XBOX SERIES X, rather than this being a SimBrief-specific problem.

Hi,

After chatting with some of the other team members, I’m wondering if your SimBrief and simulator data may not be matching. Could you confirm which AIRAC cycle your SimBrief is currently using?

Thanks!

Hi,

My SimBrief AIRAC cycle is 2503

I believe we’ve found the issue.

The default navdata for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is currently on AIRAC cycle 2608. The mismatch between the AIRAC cycles used by SimBrief and the aircraft is causing issues when importing flight plans.

Thanks for your patience while we tracked this down!

*NOTE As far as I’m aware, the only way to resolve this would be to update your SimBrief navdata to the most current AIRAC cycle, which requires a paid subscription.

Hi,

I think there may be a misunderstanding. My EFB shows that 3rd Party AIRAC cycle is 2303R1(pic attached below), not 2608 as you said.

My free SimBrief account is currently using AIRAC 2503(latest free ver).

Does this mismatch cause the FMS flight plan transfer issue?

Also, is subscribing to Navigraph the only way to solve this, or is there any free alternative?

Thanks!

Hi,

Xbox does not currently support Navigraph Sim Data, so your NAVDATA should be set to SIM DEFAULT.

You are correct that this is why your FMS flight plan is not transferring over. Once your aircraft is set to SIM DEFAULT data, the only way around the AIRAC mismatch would be to upgrade your SimBrief AIRAC to the current cycle. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any free alternative at this time.

I hope this helps clarify things.

Thanks!

I subscribed to Navigraph and tried the CPNY FPLN request again. It eventually worked: it stayed on “PENDING” for about 20 seconds, returned to the CPNY FPLN page, and about 52 seconds in total, I received the FPLN successfully.

So the FPLN transfer is working now, but the response time is quite long. Is this amount of delay expected on Xbox, or could there still be an issue with the connection or server response?

Yes, I believe that wait time is to be expected. It’s most likely a console-related limitation, as I believe the process is much quicker on PC.

That being said, I’m glad you were able to get everything working as intended! Enjoy your flights.

Thanks!
