Boeing 707 texturing

Featured Replies

Hi.

About texturing especially concerning wings, I'm sorry to tell that but your way OFF. To me you base your wings texturing on the Boeing 367-80 just by the size of the wings. But as you can see on the real picture, the wings is all bare metal and not really shiny. No polished. But the commercial B707 are really different and more polish making them very shiny with sun relection. Looking at your liveries, they have all the same wings texturing based on the 367-80. If you look at the scale model (very hard to find airborne pictures) you missed to add a gray area in the center of the wings as the majority of airlines use making the wings looking better and different. An looking from the back of your plane, the texturing is really bad. You need to make something much better, more shiny, more polish than that expecially because you won't release a paintkit. It's now your task to remake the texturing of the wings. Also your bare metal texture looks more grayish than bare metal. The tone is not correct.

You have to understand talking for myself, I waited 40 years to get a descent B707 on flight simulator. Now you have made one, I'm extremely happy but you have to fix some important points to make it clower to the real one. Asobo give it a second chance, but now you are very close to get it, some more ameliorations and it will be top notch.

Thanks for your understanding.

André

Thanks Kyle.

Comment about your plane are more than excellent on the net, so by giving more attention to detail, everyone will be extremely happy about Inibuilds. You did a great job on this replica.

Your wings should look like this on any B707 you will make. This one is brighter, a darker gray would be better.

This is the 2024 standard. It's what I can a shiny bare metal. The B707 American Airlines was that much shiny.

Hi Kyle.

I'm sorry to be so pointy about details, but I've been scale model inspector for Dragon Wings (1/400 diecast models) for 2 years. My job was to point out every details on the model to be corrected comparing the model with real photos. So I tend to do the same thing with MSFS 2024 planes. On first Dragon models were bashed so much on the net and after some months I was inspecting them, the quality increase drastically and peoples remarked the difference. If you bare to change what I pointed out, for sure peoples will remark an increase of quality and will really love your B707, beleive me.

Hi Kyle.

Look at that. A painter named TiAR did the best paint job to date on this livery. Look at the bare metal belly, the engines are just so real and the top of the wings are perfect. He is the first one to address the wings and engines texturing. So beautiful.

Hi André,

This is exactly why we love the flight sim community! I’ll pass these references along to the art team for consideration in future updates.

Thank you again for taking the time and for your passion for the aircraft!

And the guy updated his livery, he ameliorated the engines pylons color to make them even better. It's a so real livery, I just can't fly any other plane than my beloved B707. I waited 40 years for a such beautiful aircraft. Thank you so much Inibuilds, you have no idea how you make me happy with this aircraft. Hope you will really do some updates to fix different things I suggested.

Hi, also the mapping of the plane is a nightmare as a painter, the texture of the handle protection came from the door itselft.

FlightSimulator2024 2026-08-18 11-52-32_759.pngimage.png

The rudder is also very bad, we got 5 different part for one side and this is not even symmetrical^^

image.png

Also the junction between the wing and the fuselage being on a different texture than the fuselage is also a nightmare to use, you can't easily make a old livery with big line across the fuselage without taking 3/4 hours to got a nice result (bad for a plane when 90% of the operator got this kind of livery)

Sans titre-1.png

Anyway thanks for the plane it's still very fun to fly

Hi,

Without an official paint kit, I can only imagine how difficult it must be. This is definitely a strong talking point and may be worth bringing up on the MSFS forums, as they ultimately control whether or not a paint kit is made publicly available.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the aircraft!

Thanks for your support!
