Has anyone seen digital membership cards used in aviation clubs or flight sim communities?

I was recently thinking about how many flight simulation communities and virtual aviation groups have grown over the years, and it made me wonder if digital membership cards have a place in this space.

A lot of organizations outside aviation have moved from plastic membership cards to digital versions that can be stored on a phone. That seems convenient for member verification, event check-ins, and renewals, especially for communities that organize regular meetups or online events.

I'm curious whether anyone here has experience with something similar in a flight simulation club, virtual airline, or aviation association.

Do you think a digital membership card would actually be useful for:

• Community events or fly-ins?

• Member-only training sessions?

• Discounts or partner benefits?

• Faster check-in at real-world aviation gatherings?

Or do existing systems like Discord roles, forum accounts, and email confirmations already handle everything well enough?
