ThorCoolguy Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Relatively minor issue, but I believe I've found an area of corrupted data in the downloadable A350 terrain database. Along the Namibia/Angola border, there's an E-W strip where terrain projects too far into the Atlantic, and then the inland terrain is a weird mix of water and very tall mountains - the highest mountains on earth, in fact! The real-world terrain here is quite low elevation, and there are certainly no mountains or lakes like that.
IniSteve Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Thanks for the report. This likely stems from an error in the map file on the core database that is being parsed to the display. Our terrain radar isn't dynamically scanning the earth in front of the aircraft.
ThorCoolguy Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago Yeah, figured it was a database issue. I found another one, in fact, farther along the same route, in the Gulf of Guinea: 1
