Xbox - a350 - does not follow nav/flight plan immediately after take off

Several flight now where the a350 does not engage nav to follow flight plan after take off. I end up having to either do a direct to to the next way point or engage heading mode. Am I missing something?

Chap GPT says this is expected behaviour at certain airports where there might be a discontinuity in the flight plan or a manual leg or ACT vectoring after take off. I followed the Chat GPT steps to resolve (eg, Edinburgh airport), but it doesn’t work - plane still does not follow flight plan in the FMS.
