A350 v1.1.9 Sound Inaccuracies (Engine mainly needs a lot of attention)

Featured Replies

On a bright note first, the slats sound really good now. Now for the criticism:

1) The new v1.1.9 engine spool-up sounds completely off. I am not referring to the growl. I am referring to the other whistle sound. It sounds too high at a lower n1 value. You can compare the current sounds to this video.

2) The growl could be a little more pronounced on the ground and in general. Example at 5:28

3) Leading up to the final 'thud' on rotation, you can hear multiple 'thuds' happening before that get louder and louder. Example at 5:59-6:02.

4) The final 'thud' upon rotation could be quite a bit louder. Example at 6:01.

5) When the gear is being retracted, in the final moments, some 'vibration' noises would sound good. Example at 6:18-6:22.

6) The whole gear-up sound in general could be reworked, too.

7) Gear down could use a little refining, too. Example at 35:34.

This is the example video to demonstrate what I mean.

Now, for flaps, on the ground, they are pretty decent. However, in the air, they could use a little strain-like sound like it's working to move. Here's an example at 4:28.

I am open to other questions.

I agree. I feel when you spool up the engines as well they go a little quieter when in the opposite they should be getting louder and also don't really have much of that howl to them, more of just a high pitch whine too early on. I think this has been an issue with a lot of inibuilds aircraft sounds. Seems like low end frequencies and bass needs to be mixed better and maybe worked on as an improvement for future updates. Here is a video with a time stamp to what I mean about the howl its at 0:45 incase:

@Eddie, here is another example that you should pass on. This gives more perspective on the sound mixing and pitches that match the growl. I should note that this is a rainy takeoff, so the growl is more pronounced than normal. On a side note, I wonder if you could, at some point in the future, modify engine growl and sounds based on the environment. Anyway, here is the video at 1:58.
