A350 for MSFS 2020 – Engine fan animation issue, sound discrepancy vs MSFS 2024, and official liveries not loading

Platform:

• Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
• A350 Airliner v1.1.7
• iniManager latest version (used for install & liveries)

I also have MSFS 2024 installed with the A350, so I can directly compare behavior between the two platforms.

1. Engine fan animation issue (MSFS 2020 only)On MSFS 2020, the A350 engine fan animation looks incorrect:The fan visually does not seem to complete a full rotation.

Instead, it feels like the fan rotates a short distance and then snaps back to the original position, repeating this over and over.

This makes the spinning animation look jittery/looped rather than a smooth continuous rotation.

I only see this behavior on MSFS 2020 – on MSFS 2024 the fan animation looks normal to me under the same conditions.

This is visible both during engine start-up and when the engine is stabilized at idle or higher thrust.

2. Sound difference between MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024

The engine and overall soundscape of the A350 on MSFS 2020 sounds very different from MSFS 2024, even when using the same aircraft version (v1.1.7) and similar audio settings:

Engine sound levels, tone and balance feel much less similar to MSFS 2024 than I expected.

In MSFS 2020, the engine audio sounds noticeably different throughout the whole power range (start-up, taxi, takeoff, cruise), not just a small platform variation.

On MSFS 2024 the sound feels more natural and consistent, while in MSFS 2020 it feels like a different mix or even a different set of samples.I understand there can be some differences between the two sims, but right now the gap between 2020 and 2024 for the A350 feels unusually large, so I am not sure if this is intended or a bug.

3. Official liveries from iniManager not loading in MSFS 2020

For MSFS 2020, official A350 liveries installed via iniManager do not work correctly:

 

I select the MSFS 2020 tab in iniManager and install the official A350 liveries from there.

The installation appears to complete successfully with no error message.

In the sim, the default “all white / house” livery loads fine, but

Any official livery installed via iniManager for MSFS 2020 fails to load properly (the aircraft either does not show correctly or the livery does not appear in the aircraft selection menu as expected).

On MSFS 2024, the A350 liveries work normally, so this seems to be specific to the MSFS 2020 version.

I have already tried:

 

Removing all third-party A350 liveries from the Community folder

Uninstalling and reinstalling the A350 for MSFS 2020 via iniManager

Reinstalling the official MSFS 2020 liveries via iniManager after a clean install of the aircraft

The behavior remains the same: default white livery is OK, official 2020 liveries from iniManager are not usable.

I agree with you. v .16 was getting somewhere now .17 broke so many things
