FLT OPS PLAN AUTO Fuel/ALTN

When I use FLT OPS PLAN to create a flight plan, I leave the FUELING section at their defaults of AUTO and ALTN PLAN with all settings AUTO.

After clicking GENERATE PLAN, this however results in planned fuel of 0% for CONT / ALTN:

If I do the same in SimBrief (using the Simbrief dispatch plugin or website) with Alternate and Contingency both set to AUTO, I get some fuel for both:

I can set CONT to 5% and PLAN NUM ALTERNATES to 1 to get similar results, but why is the AUTO setting giving 0 CONT and no ALTN? Cheers.
