It is an option you can deselect. It also happens in the real world, trust me on that! Red faces all round.

If that's the case then this is actually a "realism" feature 🙂 Sometimes the ground crew pull the ground power without asking and you haven't started the APU, or the GPU trips out. Or you request push and start and find out you still still have ground power attached and no APU.... 1
