As soon as I engage the autopilot the plane pitches up huge (vertical speed flies to 8000 fpm), speed drops to stall, and no matter what I do I can't get the speed up once the pitch settles down. My display says "AP IN PROT" at first and then switches to "A.FLOOR." Any idea what those mean and what I might be doing wrong? I calibrated my throttles so that's all good. Thanks!

Ok, I think it's related to my airspeed. I can't get the plane past 220 knots or so. Tried setting thrust at different notches, etc, nothing works. Even with engines running at 93%, plane won't move. So then when I hit AP I get the huge pitch up, speed reduction, and stall. Is there something simple I'm missing with the thrust/autothrottle?

Turning off all the assistance's seemed to clear things up for a brief test flight I did. Will try again tomorrow to see if that holds. Now if I can just figure out the cockpit freezes that so many others are experiencing...

@ChruutvoLuzi, @Pericles I've encountered the same issue on all my flights so far, making it impossible to use the autopilot function. Its been mentioned making sure you have all assistances in the sim off. For clarity, could somebody possibly share the assistance options that you have turned off. - Thanks!

I had the same problem today, during TO, I engage the AP right after I lift off and raise the gear, It climbs at 6000fpm. The speed slows to stall and my throttles is almost maxed out to avoid stalling. Don't seem like manage mode is working at all. I know this AC don't have VNAV, but how do I get it to follow a ftl plan, does the AP automatically fly the plan when engaged??

Yes, once you click the AP1 button, its the equivalent to turning on LNAV and VNAV on a Boeing. Also make sure you set your altitude and make sure speed and heading both have 3 lines for them, basically you telling the plane to follow the FMS. To do it just click in on each one.

Maybe something relating to Steam?

Please take a look on that issue.
