Time Compression (Sim Rate) - Let the user control

Recommended Posts

Unless I'm missing something in how the A350 works with time compression, it seems to only allow for "Auto time compression" or "OFF"... With options of "up to 2x" and "up to 4x"...

I have no issues with restricting it to a max of 4x (Fenix does the same thing), but there needs to be an option which allows the user to control it. Right now it's either auto managed (which is a very bad experience) or you can't use it at all. I just tried the Auto setting and it seems to be activating some type of time compression at all times. I think most people use it differently depending on the person, but I know a lot of folks like to activate it during cruise only. We shouldn't have to constantly go into the settings to go from Auto to Off and back again.

I would simply request a 3rd option to be added- the options should be "OFF", "Auto", and "Pilot Controlled".

Thanks!

Skip the whole time compression in the EFB, I don't see why it's there.
Why not just use the keyboard to simply increase and decrease the sim rate?

Yes @mseder that's exactly what I mean... It should be able to be user controlled via the keyboard or excellent 3rd party add ons like Sim Rate Selector. If the Sim Rate within the EFB is selected to OFF then we should be able to use the keyboard or an app like Sim Rate Selector at our own risk.

The simrate already has 2 events "Increase sim rate" and "decrease sim rate" in the Miscellaneous section.
I have 2 keys assigned to that, pgup and pgdown.
But now this functionallity is actually blocked by involving the EFB time compression. Why?

On top of that, sim rate is locked at 2x basically for the entire eastern hemisphere. Why???? Not everyone has time to sit for hours in front of their computers. Let the users choose their own sim rates like PMDG and all your other products

What!!!
The compression issues must be solved very quickly. One cannot have a long range aircraft for more than 72 Euro with this performance.

I SECOND this BADLY. The way I have always done long flights is to set the time ONCE before the flight leave. After you come back, inevitably due to SIM loading and unloading, you will lose some seconds. I then simply accelerate back to current time. Why?

- If you simply SYNC the SIM back to current time everything is screwed. Say your PC hung for 5 minutes. It unfreezes and you are 5 minutes behind. If you accelerate time back to current time, it is as if nothing has happened. If you simply let the clock only get back to current time, you are suddenly 5 minutes of fuel flow ahead. Screwing your whole OFP.

- So, if you have lost time in cruise due to any hiccup and time magically jumps back to current time, your flight and block times no longer match reality.

PLEASE ini, remove this stupid restriction that NO other airplane has.
