November 30, 20241 yr There have been some fantastic repaints released for the T-33, including about a dozen paints representing just about the entire history of the plane in the RCAF. However, the FS2020 paints don't work on the FS2024 update. Which leads to a pair of questions: 1) Will there be an updated paintkit for the 2024 model? 2) Any chance the layouts, etc. are similar enough that the 2020 paints can be easily converted, vs having to totally rebuild them? If so, any tips from your livery team on how to do this? Thanks!
December 1, 20241 yr First of all, thank you for releasing the native MSFS 2024 version for free to existing customers. This is much appreciated. It is possible to convert existing repaints. The textures have to be saved in a different format and the new folder structure has to be implemented. Which unfortunately is quite a lot of work. I started to do this with my repaints and ran into two problems: 1) The modified canopy textures are not recognised by the model. It uses the ones in the main texture folder and ignores the ones in the repaint folder. 2) All the decal textures that were added to fix the problems with the mirrored textures seem to be missing in the MSFS 2024 addon. It would be great if this could be fixed! Greetings Tim
December 1, 20241 yr I agree Tim-HH. I have no idea what is behind constantly changing the way flightsim aircraft are painted. This was the case when the T-33 was released as noted by many talented painters. It just makes the simulator less desirable to many users. What is wrong with having the ability to represent properly the many aircraft of all types in the real world. It can't be just copyright issues as we see so many freeware liveries of all kinds. This must be so frustrating to the many great artist such as yourself. I have enjoyed the liveries you did for the initial T-33 release. It boggles the mind as to why. Thank you very much.
December 22, 20241 yr Would love to hear from INI on this. The RCAF repaints by Jocko mentioned above are just too good to not have them in MSFS24.
December 22, 20241 yr Author Yep, curious about the paintkit and the issues Tim-HH cites in post #2. @richboy2307?
December 22, 20241 yr Hi, Apologies for the radio-silence on this. Seems I missed the post entirely. Nonetheless, a paint-kit is in the works! Due to how things work in FS24, the aircraft is now modular which presents a different way of creating said paintkits, but again, we are working on it. Unfortunately no ETA at the moment. Hoping for sooner than later 🙂 Thank you EddieCommunity Manager iniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
December 23, 20241 yr Author Awesome! Glad to hear it's in the works. The modular nature is definitely challenging to figure out, so the paintkit will be greatly appreciated once it happens.
February 6, 20251 yr Glad to hear it’s in the works and hopefully it doesn’t end up on the back burner. There are so many good repaints for the original T-33 (including seemingly every one operated by the RCAF!) it would be such a shame if these could t make their way to 2024. Having plentiful repaints really helps make the aircraft and unfortunately Ini support for this really seems slow / lacking for 2024 aircraft (the A300 is another offender in this area).
February 12, 20251 yr Author Yeah, it's been a couple of months, would be awesome to hear if there are any updates.
March 9, 20251 yr @Eddie It would indeed great to get an update about this. There are so many awesome liveries for the T-33 and it is a pity that we can't use them in MSFS 2024 due to the mentioned issues.
