Paulie Posted September 23 Posted September 23 At airport EICK, the wheel chocks are not set at system startup (MSFS), nor can they be set in the EFB, so the plane just rolls backwards. This is the only airport to date I have seen this behavior. It happens with the GE and PW version.
Eddie Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Hi there, I've just tried loading in on most gates at EICK and chocks appear just fine. Are you using a specific scenery? Any other details are appreciated too! 🙂 (Gate number, etc) EddieCommunity Manager IniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
Paulie Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 I'm using the default scenery. I just tried it at Gate 9, and no luck. The plane rolls backward, and when I go to the EFB, I cannot select the Wheel Chocks button. MSFS is only showing one Gate, the rest are Parking Ramps, but the same behavior happens on those also.
Eddie Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Very odd. I'll look into it further and get back to you soon. EddieCommunity Manager IniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
Paulie Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 There is something else going on. The engines appear to be running (based on sound) and pushing the wheel chocks, which are visible. So why would the engines be running?
Eddie Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Hello again, I double checked today again and still unable to reproduce. Very odd that this behaviour is only recorded at one single airport. Either way, my suggestion is for you to clear your "work" folder. Delete the contents of it and try again. A300 Steam: %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600 MS Store: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Packages\inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600 Let me know if this solves it! Paulie Posted September 25 Author Posted September 25 Clearing the Work folder did not fix the issue. Here's a little more information about what is happening. I have a custom keyboard profile made for the PW version, and I use the ALT keys to jump around the cockpit. At Cork, these ALT keys do not work, only the CTRL keys, but the plane is rolling, so I don't know if that is affecting this behavior or not. When the plane is rolling backwards, there are no chocks under the wheels. When I press CTRL-6 to get to the EFB and the Ground Equip screen, when the plane is rolling, none of the buttons work. When the plane ends up in the grass and stops, then the Ground Equip buttons are functional and I can set the chocks, etc. I did a test with the FBW 320 at the same gate, and it was fine. Does this info. help? Paul
Eddie Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Would you mind trying to reproduce the issue with an empty community folder (to rule out any potential conflicts)? You don't need to uninstall all your add-ons. Simply rename the existing community folder to _community temporarily. Create a new empty Community folder in its place and only put the A300 in it. Alternatively reinstall the A300 if you haven't already. If this doesn't end up resolving it, I'm afraid we're limited on what we can offer help-wise. I've tried a few times now to reproduce but just can't get the same result unfortunately. Apologies for the inconvenience! Thank you EddieCommunity Manager IniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
Paulie Posted September 25 Author Posted September 25 No go. With only the inibuilds A300 folder in the Community folder, it still fails. While it is rolling, none of the buttons on the Ground Equip screen (EFB) function (i.e. can't be selected). Once it hits the grass off the taxiway, and stops, then the buttons become active.
Jivanshu Posted Monday at 05:07 PM Posted Monday at 05:07 PM (edited) If your wheelchocks aren't being set at system startup, it could be a settings issue or a simple oversight in the setup process. You should check if the system automatically detects the chocks at startup or if they need to be manually configured. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of ensuring the correct option is selected in the software. If it’s something more technical, like an issue with the sensors or connections, you might need to give it a quick check-up or restart the system. I’d recommend looking at the system manual for troubleshooting steps or talking to customer support if it’s still not working. Also, ensure your chocks are placed correctly, just in case they’re not triggering the sensors correctly. Edited Monday at 05:08 PM by Jivanshu
