September 19, 20241 yr Just starting out, getting to know the mapping, etc. Nothing set in stone. Lots of things to add/fix before I'll have a real template, just playing with basic markings size and placement.
September 20, 20241 yr That looks really nice. Great to see your the nice attention to color and your insignia placement. I am wondering if you are using Blender 3D? I found some really neat info on the T-33's used at 1(F) O.T.U. Chatham N.B. They were using a number of T-33 A's built in Burbank California. They had R.C.A.F. markings. I found five tail numbers used in a 10 exercise course at the end of July 1952. They all had numbers 14678, 14680, 14682, 14687 and 14693. I found a nice set of pictures on Caspir of 14687. Looking really good jocko417
September 20, 20241 yr This looks fantastic! And so many possibilities with the RCAF, given the number of CT-133 schemes they used over the years. Love the bright day-glo on this one! And classic RCAF (my Canadian grandfather forbade me from removing the "R" when I was building a CF-104 model, when I had thoughts of "modernizing" the decals)... Plus all the fun variations since they used it so long, like the ET-133 and CE-133 in the low-vis gray. (Though I'm more a natural-metal-and-day-glo fan!)
September 20, 20241 yr Author Coming along, redoing the fuselage markings. The decal files are nice but they aren't the same scale, if you are using standard sized markings between the fuselage and wing (and tail for that matter) they will appear to be different sizes once on the model. Still have to do cutouts around lower wing markings and clean up some other stuff.

They had the earlier underslung tip tanks similar to the F-80 and were known as the Silver Star Mk.1
September 27, 20241 yr Author Updated the red leading edge wing root markings, flap border stripes (RCAF had them extend inboard into the wing fillet), and the walkways on the upper wing root to match period photos. Stencils to go and this one's about done. Stencils as they are right now are not correct for the early 50s, the big colourful RESCUE and EJECTION SEAT markings didn't come along until later on but I'm planning lots of paint schemes from over the years so I'm sizing things for future skins too...
September 29, 20241 yr Author In the home stretch, should be done in another day or so. Just a few things to clean up/correct.
September 29, 20241 yr Just wondering which company you picked for the Montreal CYUL airport and is the last screenshot in Montreal.
September 29, 20241 yr Author I don't remember, I'll have to check, and yes, it's CYUL. First paint scheme basically done, just some minor adjustments to do.
September 30, 20241 yr Author Number two, coming soon, 21013 of the Central Flying School, RCAF Station Trenton, Ontario, circa mid-1950s. Similar paint scheme to '401 above (same era), but with natural metal tip tanks and some other minor differences.
October 2, 20241 yr Amazing looking livery jocko417. I had commented to you about 21013 and various combinations of markings and low and behold you create another beautiful livery of 21168. This is really looking great. I can't believe how fast you are learning to work with the paint kit and forming your template. Your liveries make me reminisce of the good old days when the RCAF had substantial aircraft in service and a much larger force than present. I thank all Canadian military personnel for past and present service. jocko417 your work is truly so nice to see and reinforces my support our Canadian Forces.

October 10, 20241 yr Author Tweaked some stuff: toned down the rivet decals, especially on the anti-glare surfaces, added more weathering, adjusted metal colour and reflectivity, going to redo some of the stencils. should be ready later today. Already released skins will be updated to take advantage of tweaks.
October 11, 20241 yr Author The Royal Canadian Navy operated some T-33s in the mid to late 1950s as both utility aircraft, and as advanced trainers for those pilots who would go on to fly the McDonnell F2H-3 Banshee jet fighters which operated off Canada's last aircraft carrier, HMCS Bonaventure. This repaint represents a T-33 Mk.3 of VT 40, jet training squadron based at HMCS Shearwater, Nova Scotia.
