The fuselage tank was reduced to make room for the second seat, so without the tip tanks there wouldn’t be nearly enough fuel. It’s how they came from the showroom. Who knew? Well, you did, clearly...! I wonder if they've somehow added more fuselage fuel storage - or if they just limit it to 45-minute flights. Looks good, though.
