I'm not hopeful, I had a support ticket going and ol dude referred to the pitch wheel as VS wheel. I am not fighting with someone over email about this particular autopilot system not working, I'll just learn a $30 lesson and move on. Perhaps I should use better terminology but when I say it won't "capture" I'm not talking about "preselecting" an altitude: I'm saying that hitting the ALT button does not engage ALT hold, nothing is annunciated, but the autopilot sure wants to pitch the plane around, and it definitely responds to default sim events like VS. "Our QA testers said it was fine!" they were wrong, that's a terrible way to respond to a ticket, too. Not a great start for my first aircraft purchase from these people lol

I can get the autopilot to work, but only with TDS Garmin. It doesn't alt capture though, it doesn't annunciate whatever pitch mode it might be in, but reading the VARs it has a VS mode... that works like a VS mode. If you're reading this don't buy it til they fix something.

OK, successful flight by some measure: Using TDS Garmin suite the NAV source works as expected. The default Garmin suite does not work with this aircraft in 2024. Autopilot pitch modes could use an actual explanation: I felt like engaging ALT hold wasn't actually doing that, it was engaging a pitch mode. My Bravo is sending alt set events when in ALT rotary mode, and that seemed to be affecting the pitch wheel (no animation though), so I was able to "hunt" for my altitude but it would not capture. Never got a green light on the FMA for "ENG" ALT mode. I could flip to VS mode (which is not an annunciated thing here) and it seemed to act like VS mode if I counted "clicks" so I don't buy any of this "custom autopilot" business they call out in their videos, it's doing default stuff in the background. Coupling that with the "lie of omission" on career mode stuff (which sucks anyway): I am downgrading from "disappointed" to "extremely disappointed." This is getting shelved indefinitely unless I can get a refund.

Confirmed at least NAV source switching works with the TDS garmin suite. So whatever it is is a problem with the default WT + the F406 and ought to be fixed.

So basically: I should just stop dillying and install pms/tds again Disappointed! But it's a solution I'll take. For whatever reason with the default WT avionics, the usual CDI switch for nav source just isn't working, it annunciates GPS mode no matter how much you click, but the HSI flags change. Never senses a radial though. EDIT: you seem to reference this even with PMS650 so maybe I just need to make sure I'm really really on an intercept course, but I was pretty dang sure in 3 hours of fooling around, we'll just see Desperately want this plane to work because it's among my favorites, but dang if I'm turned-off on the A350 now.

Then something is clearly broken here, I can move the heading bug, AP_MASTER works, but nothing else.

I can get it to engage fine but it won't follow nav, won't capture altitude, and doesn't provide a way to switch source with the default 430. Fun to hand fly but it seems pretty broken right now, really disappointed.

It would be nice to be able to map controls, too, as it stands it doesn't obey the usual events.

Additional missing explanations: How does one swap the NAV source between GPS/VLOC? I can't get the autopilot to follow anything (yes the avionics are on and the inverter, too). I've put about 3 hours into this aircraft and I am incredibly underwhelmed.

Power settings tables? Anything? The manual references numbers it doesn't provide...

Two things: Why is this buried in these forums I just had to create a separate account for? And where is the rest of it? Please link this on the store page instead of having to dig through to this place. Also: provide more of it, and not videos, please. Videos suck for this kind of information.
