    I had the same issue but discovered it was a key binding problem as mentioned.
    I have numpad 0 as a custom camera which was also bound to rudder trim (recent update?). After pressing numpad 0, AP1 would disconnect and couldnt reconnect again until i wiggled the joystick. AP2 was fine throughout.
