  1. Hey guys,

Quick question. I was flying today coming into KSAN and trying to do RNAV27. For RNAV27, it requires a 3.5 degree glideslope, not 3.00. I tried typing out 3.5 and entering it into the FINAL field of the MCDU, but it just arms the approach at 3.00. I'm wondering if the A300 is capable of flying different GS's in RNAV and how to do that?

When I couldn't figure it out, I switched to the LOC27 approach, and it then correctly read the glideslope as 3.5 degrees.

I've had this question for a while as I'm Canadian and many Canadian approaches require a 3.10 degree slope, but usually just fly it down manually, but this is starting to bug me and figured I'd ask about it.

I just got the aircrafts and done so far tow landings with it.

i start flaring at 20 FT callout the only thing that happened was a little bit of  floating but everything else was perfect and smooth, i don't know about your weight , my aircraft was fully loaded.

Yea i definitely wasn't full weight. Maybe ill try some touch and goes at light weight vs full weight.

  3. Just a quick question.

I don't see anyone discussing their landing techniques for this bird. I've tried a couple methods, and watched some other streamers and it seems common to quickly throttle down and start the flare at the 40RA call.

However, in my touch-and-go practice I've noticed it's really hard to stop the plane from bouncing...it almost feels like the dampers aren't absorbing enough energy, but my first assumption is always pilot error.

I'm wondering how others are doing it?
