Is an FPA approach possible? The angle can be set with the FPA knob. What is the exact procedure for such a landing?

[A/THR Speed display disappears]

As soon as I'll set the DH, the speed display goes out, is this an existing bug or the normal behavior. And why should the display go out?
In contrast to the FPA setting, the speed display remains the same. By the way, what is the FPA for, is there a description?

I try to fly from LSZH to VOR (VORDME WIL=116.9MHz/234˚CRS). First I navigate towards the VOR beam with heading mode.
Near the needle I press the V/L button, NAV+ will be displayed on the PFD, but the AP does not catch der VOR course.
Does the A310 AP support fully VOR navigation?
